Victoria Seals – GBL’s Former Franchise: The Victoria Seals are a now defunct professional baseball team that was based in the Victoria region of British Columbia in the United States of America. The Seals used to play in the Golden Baseball League, which was independent of the Minor League Baseball as well as the Major League Baseball in the North Division.
The Victoria Seals became members of the Golden Baseball League and played there for two subsequent seasons before closing its running due to the lack of infrastructure of the stadium in which they played their home matches, the Royal Athletic Park.
The team couldn’t reach a unanimous decision with the council of the city to improve the condition of the stadium and moreover, another reason for the folding of the Victoria Seals was because the Golden Baseball League was very unstable. The home colors of the Seals were white, red and navy blue, the colors of the national flag of the Unite States of America.
In its two seasons in the League, the team failed to win the title and even failed to post a winning season in any one season as well and hence, its short lived stint is one to forget and move on.
