Tommy Bolt

Tommy Bolt is one of the most renowned golfers in the world. He was a late riser but made his mark in golf history and had a huge fan following. Tommy Bolt was born in Haworth, situated in Oklahoma in the year 1916 on the 31st of March. The great sportsperson passed away in the year 2008 on 30th August. Though renowned for his excellence at the game of golf, Tommy Bolt was also known for his hot tempered nature. Immense number of golf clubs throw marks his matches. Tommy Bolt however claims that most of his throws in the later part of his career was for show and expectancy of the spectators .He started out as a caddie at the young age of 13 and only considered becoming a professional golfer inspired by the attire and manner of Al Espiona, a contemporary renowned golfer, who once visited the club where he worked as a caddie. Tommy Bolt followed up his dream at the age of 32 and had a quick victory at the North and south Open Championship. He went on to win the U.S. Open in 1958,the PGA Seniors Championship in 1969,and later won Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf with Art Wall after a previous loss. He had huge contribution in creating the Senior PGA Tour. Even at the age of 80,Tommy Bolt continued to play matches and remained very involved with the welfare of golf.
