St. Louis Cardinals – The Yankees of the National League: The St. Louis Cardinals are a team from the city of St. Louis in Missouri playing professional baseball in the Central Division of the National League of the Major League Baseball of which, it has been members since the 1892 season. The St. Louis Cardinals are the most successful National League team in terms of World Series titles having won 10 titles in all, which is only second to the amazing haul of 27 World Series titles by the American League franchise the New York Yankees. Founded in 1882 in the American Association as the St. Louis Brown Stockings or the Browns, the team became the St. Louis Cardinals only in 1900 after being known as the St. Louis Perfectos in 1899. The Busch Stadium has been the home of the Cardinals from 1966 and almost all of its matches at the stadium are sold out events when the whole town comes out to support the team. The St. Louis Cardinals have won the National League pennant on 17 occasions and have also been the winners of the AA pennant 4 times. The team has 8 Central Division titles as well as 3 East Division titles and a wild card berth to its name.
