Steve Cherundolo – Hannover’s Home Boy from the US: Steve Cherundolo is a professional football or soccer player from the United States of America who plays as a defender and is currently serving Hannover 96 in the capacity of captain in the First Division of the German Football League or the Bundesliga. Moreover, Steve Cherundolo has also won 73 caps for the United States national soccer team, scoring two goals in the process and has played in the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cups.

In his youth, he had been the member of the Nomads team that won the State Championship of California on 6 consecutive occasions while Cherundolo was in the team. He then joined the University of Portland and played for the college team in the Western Conference Championship in 1997 and 1998 and was also named the West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year in his debut season.

Steve Cherundolo made the move to Hannover 96 in 1999 that were still playing in the Second Division of the German League at that time and quickly established himself as the first choice centre back in the team and has been a loyal servant to the club for almost 12 years now. Steve Cherundolo is a fan favorite and a dedicated player as well.
