India Thumped at Lord’s Test

In the recently concluded 100th test match between India and England at the fabled Lord’s stadium, which was also the 2000th international test match, the hosts thumped the world’s number one test team to a 196 run defeat. Most of the star studded batting line up of the world champions succumbed under the fiery pace bowling of Stuart Broad, James Anderson and Chris Tremlett. It was new coach Duncan Fletcher’s first test defeat in charge of his new wards. This shameful defeat was made even sorer when England, reeling at 82 for 5, raced to a lead of over 400 runs afterwards, which the first class Indian batting line up could not chase down.
